At the helm of the ship are the following professionals:
NANCY GUEVARA
is a Speech-to-Text Interpreter based in Australia, trained and qualified as a respeaker.
She started working on developing this complex skill in 2017, when she completed an intralingual respeaking in-house training program at Macquarie University in Sydney. Having completed specialised training with the University of Vigo in 2019, she became the first qualified Speech-to-Text Interpreter in Australia.
With over 20 years’ experience as a translator and, after recently completing a Master's degree in Accessibility to Media, Arts and Culture at the University of Macerata (Italy), Nancy has developed high level skills which she has leveraged to provide high quality remote speech-to-text interpreting services for global high-profile clients and public institutions.
JACOBO CURRAIS ARCAY
is a freelance translator and conference interpreter working with Galician, Spanish, English, Portuguese, German and Italian with almost 20 years’ experience and has over recent years added live captioning (via intralingual and interlingual respeaking) to the services he provides.
He also lectures in translation, interpreting and respeaking at the University of Vigo. FIFA is one of his main translation end clients, having covered several men and women’s World Cups, amongst other competitions, for the website of the world football governing body (fifa.com). He has also been subcontracted to translate for several UN agencies
As part of his activity as a conference interpreter and live captioner, he has worked with a wide range of topics for both public and private institutions such as the FAO, the WHO and the OECD as well as Inditex, Unilever, HSBC and GSK, in events where he has interpreted, both voice-to-voice and voice-to-text, multinational executives, Nobel Prize winners, famous football players and heads of State and Government. He has also published papers on the professional interpreting market and is currently working on his doctoral thesis.
Our Journey in Live Captioning
After more that 15 years’ experience in the field of conference interpreting, our work in live subtitling began over four years ago, when we started offering the service at a time when the world demanded alternative ways to connect with others and to have access to on-line information and events.
Since then, the team has steadily grown and evolved to become a trusted name in the live captioning industry. We've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, including educational and government institutions, businesses, international organisations, event organisers, and content creators. Our experience has sharpened our skills and deepened our commitment to accessibility.

Viewing Experience for Live Captioning
We use a robust captioning tool to deliver our subtitles to the audience in a variety of formats: via URL to follow the text on your browser, or embedded into Zoom or similar platforms used for online events. On-site, we can display our captions either on a separate screen at the venue, or at the bottom of the main screen where slides or videos are being displayed.
Human
Our captions are fully generated by experienced live captioners to ensure we are delivering highly accurate and comprehensible live captions. Recent studies have shown that despite the recent developments in automatic speech recognition technology, machine-generated subtitles, particularly when the requirement involves the live translation of content, are not reaching the minimum quality threshold of 98%. Human-generated subtitles are not only delivering higher quality standards, but they also provide the scope for displaying highly edited text to ensure better comprehension and access to specific audiences (for example, easy-to-read captions).

Our team comprises experienced live subtitlers and simultaneous interpreters who understand the nuances of language, accents, and technical jargon, ensuring that the output of our work is accurate and contextually relevant.
